We are in the heart of Barcelona's Eixample, a vibrant and lively neighbourhood, very close to Plaça Espanya. This is the place where the most bohemian Barcelona comes alive and invites you to live a unique experience.

Located 5 minutes’ walk from Plaza España and the Fira de Barcelona exhibition centre, from our hotel near Montjuic you can take all kinds of buses and metro (L1 and L3) to reach the centre in just a few minutes.

You will also have a direct connection with the airport bus (Aerobus) (20 minutes to the airport), and with the commuter trains to get to the Gran Via II Fairground in Hospitalet (15 minutes).

Close to the hotel you will find Sants Station, from which you can travel to any place in Spain and Europe or take a regional train to spend the day on one of the beautiful neighbouring beaches. We recommend Sitges, Garraf, and Sant Pol de Mar.

Hotel chic&basic Velvet is located near the city centre at Plaza Catalunya square. You can walk there in 30 minutes or take the metro to get to all the city’s main areas in 10 minutes: Plaza Universitat, Las Ramblas and Paseo de Gracia.

You will find Parallel Street in less than a 5-minute walk from the hotel. This historical nightlife artery of the city which is now also consolidated as a gastronomic attraction with restaurants such as 'Tickets', the project of renowned Catalan chef Ferran Adrià, and due to its proximity to bar areas such as Parlament street.

Montjuic mountain is a magical place in Barcelona where you will feel surrounded by peace just a few metres from the heart of the city. It brings you the famous magic fountain show at sunset, the MNAC (Museum of National Art of Catalonia) and the Joan Miró Museum, you can walk up to the Montjuic castle to enjoy a beautiful view of the entire city or get lost among the real-life scale recreated buildings from every part of Spain at El Pueblo Español.

Music lovers can't miss the proximity of our hotel near Palau Sant Jordi, and buy tickets to enjoy the best concerts. A few metres away is the Olympic Stadium Lluís Companys, where the biggest artists offer their shows.

And it just so happens that Montjuic, urbanised as a result of the international exhibition of 1929, underwent another great transformation due to the Olympic Games that were held in Barcelona in 1992, and there you will be able to see all the facilities of the so-called Olympic Ring.

Another of the enclaves in the vicinity of our hotel is FC Barcelona’s stadium Camp Nou. With the green metro line that you can take at Plaza España you will arrive there in four stops plus a 10-minute walk.

If you want to see the breathing lungs of the Catalan capital, with the FGC rack railway that you can take in Plaza España you will be in Montserrat mountain in no time.

How to get to the Hotel

By car

From 'Plaza España', take the left lane of 'Gran Vía de les Corts Catalanes', turn into 'Entença' street and then go completely around the block taking 'Aragó' and then 'Vilamarí' to finish at 'Consell de Cent'. You have hereby arrived at Hotel chic&basic Velvet.

If you enter through Tarragona street, turn in 'Valencia' and go down 'Vilamarí' until you reach 'Consell de Cent'.

By metro

Metro stations Rocafort (L1) and Plaza España (L1 and L3) are just a short walk away from the hotel.

By bus

From the airport, take 'Aerobus' Line A1 or A2 to Plaza de España or city bus 46. After that it’s a 5-minute walk to the hotel.

By train

We are just a 10-minute walk away from Barcelona Sants station.
